Cerro Largo Futbol Club was founded in 2002 in Melo, the capital of the Cerro Largo department in northeast Uruguay. Despite being a relatively young club, they have made a significant impact on Uruguayan football, earning promotion to the top-flight Primera Division and establishing themselves as a competitive side.
