Samsunspor is a professional football club founded in 1965 and based in Samsun, a major port city on Turkey's Black Sea coast. The club plays its home matches at the Samsun Yeni 19 Mayıs Stadyumu, a modern 34,658-capacity ground. Historically, Samsunspor spent several seasons in the Turkish Süper Lig, earning a reputation as a competitive top-flight side before suffering relegation and experiencing yo-yo seasons between divisions.
