The Sudan national football team, known as the Sokour Al-Jediane (Falcons of Jediane), is governed by the Sudan Football Association (SFA) and competes under CAF in African football. One of Africa's historically significant football nations, Sudan won the Africa Cup of Nations in 1970, defeating Ghana in the final — their greatest achievement. The team has qualified for the AFCON on multiple occasions and participates in FIFA World Cup qualifying rounds. Home matches are played at Omdurman Al-Hilal Stadium and other venues in Khartoum. The country has faced significant political instability, including the impact of the Sudanese civil war that began in 2023, which has severely disrupted domestic football and the national team's operations. Despite these challenges, the Sudanese football federation has worked to maintain international participation, and the team remains a source of national pride during exceptionally difficult circumstances.
