The Paraguay national football team, known as La Albirroja, is governed by the Asociacion Paraguaya de Futbol and competes in CONMEBOL. Paraguay has a strong football tradition, qualifying for the FIFA World Cup nine times. Their best World Cup result came in 2010 in South Africa, where they reached the quarter-finals.
