Montenegro
The Montenegro national football team, known as the Brave Falcons, became an independent footballing nation in 2007 following the country's declaration of independence from Serbia and Montenegro. Governed by the Football Association of Montenegro and affiliated with UEFA and FIFA, the team made a remarkable start, coming close to qualifying for Euro 2012 with a strong campaign. They play home matches at the Podgorica City Stadium. Montenegro has produced several players who have excelled in top European leagues, most notably Stevan Jovetić, who played for Manchester City, Inter Milan, and Fiorentina, as well as Simon Vukčević and Dejan Savićević's legacy inspiring a generation. The team competes in UEFA Nations League League C and continues to target European Championship qualification as a competitive small nation in UEFA.
