Moldova
The Moldova national football team, known as the Red-Blues, is governed by the Federația Moldovenească de Fotbal and has been a FIFA and UEFA member since 1994, following the country's independence from the Soviet Union. Moldova has competed in every European Championship and World Cup qualifying cycle since then, facing significant challenges against stronger European nations. The team plays home matches at the Stadionul Zimbru in Chișinău. Moldova's most notable player is Alexandru Epureanu, a long-serving captain and central defender who played across Europe. The team has also included players such as Artem Milanov and Ion Testemițanu. In recent UEFA Nations League campaigns, Moldova has competed in League D and shown glimpses of improvement. The federation focuses on developing domestic talent to eventually reach a major international tournament for the first time.
