The Kenya national football team, known as the Harambee Stars, is governed by Football Kenya Federation and competes within the Confederation of African Football (CAF). Kenya has participated in multiple Africa Cup of Nations (AFCON) tournaments, most recently qualifying in 2019 after a long absence. The team's most notable AFCON appearance was in 2004, where they reached the quarter-finals. Kenyan football has produced players who have competed across African leagues and in Europe. The domestic Super League provides the foundation of player development, complemented by diaspora players. Notable players include Dennis Oliech, who enjoyed a distinguished career in France with Auxerre, and McDonald Mariga, who became the first Kenyan to win the UEFA Champions League with Inter Milan in 2010. The team continues striving for renewed AFCON qualification and World Cup participation.
