FC Aktobe, founded in 1967 and based in Aktobe (Aqtobe) in western Kazakhstan, is one of the country's historically successful clubs. Playing at the Ortalyq Stadion with a capacity of approximately 13,661, the club has won the Kazakhstan Premier League title multiple times, with championship successes in the late 2000s making them one of the dominant clubs of that era. Aktobe represented Kazakhstan in UEFA European competition, including UEFA Europa League qualifying rounds, giving the club continental experience.
