Sanfrecce Hiroshima
Sanfrecce Hiroshima, founded in 1938 as the Toyo Kogyo football club and rebranded in 1992, is one of Japan's most successful J1 League clubs. Based in Hiroshima, the club has won the J1 League championship three times, in 2012, 2013, and 2015, establishing themselves as a genuine powerhouse in Japanese football. The club's name combines Japanese and Italian — 'san' (three) and 'frecce' (arrows) — reflecting their three-arrow crest. They now play at the state-of-the-art Edion Peace Wing Hiroshima, opened in 2024 with a capacity of approximately 28,520. Sanfrecce has participated in the AFC Champions League and has produced several Japanese internationals.
