SV Werder Bremen

SV Werder Bremen, founded on February 4, 1899, by teenage students in the port city of Bremen and playing at the riverside Weserstadion (capacity 42,100), is one of the Bundesliga's most beloved clubs, known for their distinctive green and white colours. The club has won four Bundesliga titles (1965, 1988, 1993, 2004), six DFB-Pokal crowns, and the 1992 UEFA Cup Winners' Cup, including a memorable domestic double in 2003-04. Manager Otto Rehhagel's 14-year reign remains the defining era in the club's history, while Thomas Schaaf later guided them to European finals. After relegation in 2021, Werder bounced back to the Bundesliga in 2022 and have since re-established themselves with the fighting spirit and community identity that has characterised the club for over 125 years.
