Strasbourg

RC Strasbourg Alsace, founded in 1906, is one of France's oldest clubs, based in Strasbourg, the capital of the Alsace region and seat of the European Parliament in northeastern France. Competing in Ligue 1, the club plays its home matches at the Stade de la Meinau. Known as the Racing Club or simply Les Bleus et Blancs, Strasbourg won the French league title in 1979 and have also lifted the Coupe de la Ligue. The club's Alsatian identity runs deep, straddling the cultural border between French and German influences. After financial difficulties led to relegation in 2011, Strasbourg climbed back to Ligue 1 and in 2023 was acquired by American investors BlueCo, igniting fresh ambition for European competition.
