Olympique de Marseille, founded in 1899 in the passionate port city of Marseille, holds the unique distinction of being the only French club ever to win the European Cup, defeating AC Milan 1-0 in the 1993 Champions League final in Munich. The club plays at the magnificent Stade Vélodrome, a 67,000-seat fortress renowned for its electric atmosphere, and has won ten Ligue 1 titles.
