Lille
Lille OSC, formed from a historic merger of Olympique Lillois and SC Fives in 1944 — though its roots trace back to 1902 — is one of France's most storied clubs, nicknamed Les Dogues (The Mastiffs). Based at the modern Stade Pierre-Mauroy in Villeneuve-d'Ascq, which holds over 50,000 spectators, the club has won four Ligue 1 titles (1946, 1954, 2011, 2021) and six Coupe de France crowns. Their remarkable 2020-21 title, secured against the financial might of PSG under manager Christophe Galtier, stands as one of the great upsets in modern French football. Lille have also established themselves as one of Europe's finest talent factories, launching the careers of Eden Hazard, Victor Osimhen, Mike Maignan, and Leny Yoro.
