Mirassol protiv Lanus

Mirassol marked their historic Copa Libertadores debut with a 1-0 victory over Lanús at the Estádio José Maria de Campos Maia, delivering an emphatic statement on their first night in Group G. João Victor's header in the 59th minute, set up by Reinaldo's pinpoint corner, proved to be the decisive moment. Mirassol had already seen a Neto Moura goal correctly chalked off by VAR just minutes earlier. Lanús compounded their misery when Tomás Guidara was shown a red card in the 88th minute, leaving the Argentine side to see out the final moments with ten men. The three points are historic for Mirassol, who claimed their first-ever Libertadores win in their debut continental campaign. For Lanús, a defeat combined with a late dismissal makes for a very tough opening night in Group G.
