Inter protiv AS Roma

Inter ended a three-match winless run in emphatic fashion at San Siro, tearing AS Roma apart 5-2. A devastating second-half blitz, three goals in under 15 minutes, was the defining moment of the night. Lautaro Martinez struck in the 1st minute off a Marcus Thuram lay-off to set the tone early. Gianluca Mancini levelled for Roma with a 40th-minute header before Hakan Calhanoglu's thunderous 30-yard drive restored Inter's lead right on the stroke of half-time. The floodgates opened after the break: Martinez doubled his tally in the 47th minute, Thuram nodded in from a Calhanoglu corner in the 50th, and Nicolo Barella tucked away a loose ball in the 61st. Lorenzo Pellegrini's 70th-minute finish was a mere consolation. The result sends Inter nine points clear at the top of Serie A, their fourth five-goal league haul of the season. For Roma, winless in five away matches and conceding five for the first time since January 2023, the alarm bells are ringing loud.
