Botafogo RJ vs Fluminense

Botafogo and Fluminense shared the points in a fiery Rio derby at Nilton Santos, with Alex Telles' outrageous free kick the moment everyone will remember from this 1-1 draw in round 22 of the Brasileirao. Telles curled his effort into the top corner just before the break to send Botafogo ahead. Fluminense responded quickly after the restart, with Ignacio heading home a cross from Soteldo to level things. Tempers flared late, and Marcal was shown a second yellow and sent off from the bench for protesting a referee decision in stoppage time, capping an ill-tempered finish. The draw suits Fluminense better, they fielded a squad heavy on reserves with one eye on the Libertadores, and the point keeps them in the G4 with 35 points. Botafogo stay just outside the top five on 30 points, left to rue a missed chance after leading for most of the game.
