Flamengo RJ vs Botafogo RJ

Flamengo made light work of rivals Botafogo at the Maracanã, cruising to a 3-0 win that could easily have been more lopsided. Controlling roughly two-thirds of possession, the home side pinned Botafogo back for long stretches, and the standout moment came from Samuel Lino, who put in a two-goal display that decided the derby early and then sealed it late. Samuel Lino opened the scoring in the 13th minute after a pinpoint through ball from Jorginho, and he doubled his tally in the 86th minute. Carrascal added a third in stoppage time to complete the rout. The match wasn't without controversy, though: three goals were chalked off in total, including a Botafogo effort from Arthur Cabral ruled out for handball, while Flamengo also had strikes from Pedro and Lucas Paquetá disallowed for offside. The result keeps Flamengo firmly in the title race, moving them to 48 points and second place, just three behind leaders Palmeiras. For Botafogo, it's a second straight defeat that leaves them stuck in 12th with 30 points and little momentum heading into the run-in.
