Ексцелзиор Ротердам

Excelsior Rotterdam is one of the oldest football clubs in the Netherlands, founded in 1902 in Rotterdam. The club plays home matches at Stadion Woudestein, an intimate ground with a capacity of around 4,500 spectators, creating a unique and atmospheric matchday experience. Excelsior has alternated between the Eredivisie and Eerste Divisie throughout their history, with several memorable Eredivisie seasons where they competed above expectations. The club is known for developing young talent, benefiting from its location in Rotterdam, a city with a rich football culture and proximity to major clubs like Feyenoord. Excelsior returned to the Eredivisie in recent years and established themselves as a compact, well-organized side. The club prides itself on a community-focused philosophy, youth academy investment, and playing an attractive style of football despite limited financial resources compared to the Eredivisie's larger clubs.
