Nigeria vs Zimbabwe
Match Report
Nigeria opened their Unity Cup campaign with a commanding 2-0 win over Zimbabwe at The Valley in London. Femi Azeez was the undisputed star, bagging both goals in a polished display that gave Super Eagles fans plenty to cheer about.
Azeez wasted little time, prodding home just five minutes in after a clever assist from Terem Moffi. The striker doubled Nigeria's advantage in the 63rd minute — again set up by Moffi — to seal a comfortable victory. The game remained free of red cards and penalties, though Tochukwu Nadi and Kenneth Igboke were both booked for the hosts.
For Nigeria, it's a fine opening statement in this London mini-tournament. Zimbabwe, though better organised than in some past encounters, will need sharper attacking play if Marshall Munetsi and company are to bounce back in their remaining fixtures.
