Strasbourg vs Lens

Strasbourg came from behind to beat Lens 2-1 at the Stade de la Meinau, with Gessime Yassine stealing the show by scoring both goals with his right foot despite being a natural lefty. It capped a thrilling second-half turnaround after Lens had led at the break. Florian Thauvin put Lens ahead from the penalty spot in the 38th minute, the milestone strike also marking his 100th Ligue 1 goal. Strasbourg responded almost immediately after the restart as Yassine leveled in the 48th minute, assisted by Sebastian Nanasi. A VAR review then chalked off an Ortega effort in the 56th minute before Yassine struck again in the 85th, once more teed up by Nanasi, to complete his brace. Lens pushed for a late equalizer, with Sotoca's header well saved by goalkeeper Filip Sörensen, while Strasbourg's Bulatović also rattled the woodwork. The win gives Strasbourg a much-needed home breakthrough to open their season on a high, while Lens will be frustrated to leave empty-handed after controlling large stretches of the match.
