New Caledonia vs Jamaica

Jamaica edged past New Caledonia 1-0 in their World Cup intercontinental playoff semifinal at the Akron Stadium in Zapopan, Mexico. Bailey-Tye Cadamarteri pounced on a rebound in the 18th minute to net the only goal, after goalkeeper Rocky Nyikeine could only parry an initial effort into the young striker's path. The Reggae Boyz created plenty of chances to extend their lead, firing 12 shots with five on target, but Nyikeine kept his side in the contest with a string of saves. New Caledonia showed real fight throughout and pushed hard for an equaliser in six minutes of second-half stoppage time, but the Caribbean side held firm. The result sends Jamaica into a Pathway 1 final against DR Congo on March 31, with a place at the 2026 World Cup — and a spot in Group K alongside Portugal, Uzbekistan, and Colombia — on the line.
