Nashville SC handed Minnesota United their first loss of the 2026 MLS season with a convincing 3-1 home victory. Sam Surridge stole the show with his second brace of the campaign, continuing a red-hot start to the year.
Surridge opened the scoring in the 26th minute, redirecting a Patrick Yazbek strike into the net. Cristian Espinoza made it 2-0 in the 33rd, tapping home after keeper Drake Callender parried a Hany Mukhtar effort. Nectarios Triantis briefly revived Minnesota's hopes two minutes later with a stunning solo run and finish into the top corner, but Surridge restored the two-goal cushion in the 47th minute with a rising close-range strike.
The result keeps Nashville SC soaring in the early weeks of the season, while Minnesota United will look to regroup on the road in Vancouver next weekend.
