Heracles vs Excelsior

Heracles were left frustrated on Friday night as Excelsior fought back to earn a 1-1 draw at the Asito Stadion in Eredivisie Round 28. Sem Scheperman had given the hosts the lead in the 23rd minute, but the visitors refused to lie down. Excelsior came out with renewed purpose after the break, and Derensili Sanches Fernandes levelled the scores on 57 minutes to silence the home crowd. The second half became a scrappy affair, with the referee brandishing yellow cards freely — Jan Zamburek picking up two in quick succession for Heracles as tempers flared. Neither side could find a winner, and the point does little for either team's survival hopes.
