NEC Nijmegen shocked the Philips Stadion with a stunning 3-2 victory over title-chasing PSV, with Bryan Linssen the star of the show. The veteran striker scored twice in the first half to put the league leaders firmly on the back foot in Eindhoven.
Linssen struck first on 20 minutes before doubling his tally in the 38th. Kiliann Sildillia pulled one back for PSV just before halftime, but Youssef El Kachati restored the two-goal cushion in the 67th minute. Couhaib Driouech's injury-time goal set up a frantic finale, but NEC held on.
Despite enjoying over 70% possession, PSV were punished for their profligacy. It marks the second time this month NEC have beaten them, following their KNVB Cup win just 11 days ago.
The result delays PSV's title party — they still need points to seal the Eredivisie crown. For NEC, a double over the league leaders is a massive confidence boost heading into the final stretch.
