FC Groningen vs AFC Ajax

FC Groningen stunned Ajax 3-1 at the Euroborg as substitute Oskar Zawada struck twice in seven second-half minutes to seal a memorable upset in front of 22,525 fans. Thom van Bergen gave the hosts an early lead in the sixth minute, beating the offside trap. Ajax hit back through Davy Klaassen, who headed in an Anton Gaaei cross on 30 minutes — his fifth league goal of the season. Wout Weghorst rattled the crossbar before the break as the visitors pushed for more. The second half was all Groningen. Zawada came off the bench to fire home on 65 minutes, then nodded in a third just seven minutes later to put the result beyond doubt. The defeat — Ajax's fourth under coach Fred Grim — leaves them third on 44 points, a massive 21 adrift of leaders PSV. Groningen climb to tenth on 34 points with a vital three points in mid-table.
