Real Madrid snatched a dramatic 1-2 win at Celta Vigo thanks to Federico Valverde's deflected strike deep into stoppage time. The Uruguayan's effort in the 94th minute looped off Marcos Alonso and past the wrong-footed goalkeeper to send the away end wild at Balaídos. Aurélien Tchouaméni had given Madrid an early lead in the 11th minute, collecting a pass from Arda Güler and steering a clinical shot into the corner. Celta hit back through Borja Iglesias on 25 minutes after Williot Swedberg drove down the left and delivered a low cross. The hosts nearly won it late on when substitute Iago Aspas rattled the post in the 88th minute, only for Valverde to break Celta hearts moments later. The win lifts Real Madrid to 63 points, just one behind leaders Barcelona, ending a two-game losing streak ahead of Wednesday's Champions League clash with Manchester City. Celta remain sixth on 40 points, still firmly in the European places despite the late heartbreak.
