Bayer Leverkusen produced a remarkable second-half comeback to demolish Wolfsburg 6-3 at the BayArena. Trailing 1-3 after a chaotic opening 38 minutes, the hosts flipped the script with four unanswered goals after the break.
Jonas Wind (16'), Joakim Maehle (31') and a Christian Eriksen penalty (38') had the visitors dreaming of a shock result. But Alex Grimaldo kept Leverkusen in it with a penalty and a fine finish before the interval (30', 44'), sending the teams in at 2-3.
The second half was all Leverkusen. Patrik Schick levelled from the spot (53') before Edmond Tapsoba (68') and Ibrahim Maza (72') put the hosts firmly in command. Malik Tillman completed the rout deep in stoppage time (90+6').
The win lifts Leverkusen to 49 points in sixth, keeping their European hopes firmly alive. For Wolfsburg, stuck in 17th on just 21 points, the second-half collapse deepens a relegation crisis that shows no sign of easing.
