Match Report
FC Porto booked their place in the Europa League quarter-finals with a comfortable 2-0 win over VfB Stuttgart at the Estádio do Dragão, sealing a convincing 4-1 aggregate victory. William Gomes set the tone early, firing a clinical left-footed strike past Alexander Nübel in the 20th minute to settle any home nerves.
Victor Froholdt doubled the lead on 71 minutes with another left-footed finish beyond Nübel, effectively killing off any hope of a Stuttgart comeback. Things went from bad to worse for the visitors when midfielder Nikolas Nartey was shown a red card in the 78th minute after picking up two quick fouls.
With ten men and needing four goals, Stuttgart had nothing left to give. Porto march confidently into the last eight, while the Germans head home to refocus entirely on their Bundesliga campaign.
