OGC Nice vs RC Strasbourg

Nice battled back from behind to edge Strasbourg 2-1 at the Allianz Riviera, with Jonathan Clauss producing the standout moment of the afternoon, a curling strike in the 81st minute that dipped in off the crossbar and left goalkeeper Jörgensen with no chance. Strasbourg had looked set to leave Nice with something after Dario Essugo capped a slick move to put the visitors ahead in the 41st minute. But disaster struck right before the break: in the second minute of first-half stoppage time, Pape Demba Diop inadvertently turned a cross from Hein into his own net, the ball clipping the post before nestling in. Clauss then settled it with his first league goal of the season, his sixth appearance of the campaign. For Nice, the comeback win offers a much-needed lift as they try to climb away from the lower reaches of the table. Strasbourg, meanwhile, will rue a cruel piece of misfortune that cost them a result they had largely controlled.
