Gent vs AGF

Gent opened their Conference League league phase with a 1-0 win over Aarhus, and it took until the 87th minute to get it. Substitute Hyllarion Goore scored the only goal, heading in at the far post from a cross by Tiago Araujo. Aarhus had lost track of his run and had no time to respond. Before that, Gent had plenty of the ball and the shots, leading 9-1 at the break, but kept finding the keeper or the frame. Ibrahima Cisse hit the bar with a header and was denied again by Mads Hedenstad, who made several good saves. Mathias Delorge also cleared a header off the line at the other end. The result extends Gent's unbeaten run to 15 matches in all competitions this season, and they are eighth in the Conference League table with 3 points. They also lead the Belgian league with 22 points from 24. Aarhus, playing their first league-phase game in this competition, sit bottom with none.
