Ural vs Veles

Veles Moscow snapped Ural's long unbeaten run with a 2-1 away win at Ekaterinburg Arena, ending the hosts' 11-match streak without defeat in the FNL. It was a rough start for Sergey Yuran's side, who found themselves two goals down inside the opening half-hour. The visitors struck first in the 16th minute when Ural defender Dmitry Tikhiy turned the ball into his own net. Artur Koloskov doubled the advantage from the penalty spot in the 23rd minute, giving Veles full control. Ural fought back after the break, and defender Silvije Begic halved the deficit in the 66th minute, but the hosts couldn't find an equalizer despite pushing for one late on. The result snaps Ural's long unbeaten run and leaves them third on 25 points, still in the promotion mix but unable to close the gap at the top. For Veles, it was a much-needed first win in five matches, lifting Alexey Stukalov's side above Ural into second place on 26 points as they continue chasing promotion.
