AEK Ateny vs Levski Sofia

AEK Athens produced a statement performance, thrashing Levski Sofia 4-0 in the second leg to complete a routine passage through their Champions League play-off. The tie had looked delicately balanced after a goalless first leg, but the hosts blew it open early, racing into a 3-0 lead by half-time at the Allwyn Arena. Luka Jovic opened the scoring in the 7th minute before Barnabas Varga struck twice, in the 12th and 29th minutes, to put the game beyond doubt. Razvan Marin added a penalty in the 55th minute for the fourth. Marin and Stavros Pilios both picked up yellow cards, but Levski Sofia barely threatened, managing only a few shots on goal all night. The aggregate win sends AEK Athens through to the next round of Europe's premier competition, a big result for a side chasing continental progress. Levski Sofia, meanwhile, exit the Champions League picture and will need to regroup for whatever European football comes next.
