Интер Майами – Торонто

Toronto FC pulled off a road upset over Inter Miami in Fort Lauderdale, riding two second-half goals to a 1-2 win despite the home side controlling the ball for most of the night. It's the kind of result that will sting Miami, who dominated possession but couldn't find the net until it was too late. Josh Sargent broke the deadlock in the 59th minute off a Dániel Sallói assist, and Toronto FC doubled its lead just three minutes later when Derrick Etienne struck in the 62nd. Lionel Messi pulled one back for Inter Miami in the 82nd minute, finishing from the box after a Rodrigo De Paul assist, but the comeback stalled there. Yellow cards went to Richie Laryea, Maximiliano Falcón, and David Ayala; no red cards were shown. The loss is a rare stumble for Inter Miami, who sit second in the Eastern Conference, while Toronto FC, mired in 11th, will take real confidence from stealing three points against one of the league's best sides.
