پلاتنسه مقابل پنیارول

Platense and Peñarol shared the spoils in a 1-1 Copa Libertadores draw at Vicente López on Thursday, keeping the Argentine debutants tantalisingly close to the round of 16. Franco Zapiola came closest to a winner, rattling the post late in the first half. Facundo Batista broke the deadlock in the 28th minute with a half-volley that beat Matías Borgogno, giving Peñarol a surprise lead. Platense levelled ten minutes later through Agustín Lagos, whose right-footed effort deflected off a defender and left Washington Aguerre helpless. The visitors were already unsettled by the 13th minute, when Eric Remedi limped off to be replaced by Diego Laxalt. The point leaves Platense, in their first-ever Copa Libertadores campaign, second in Group E with seven points, needing just one more to qualify. Peñarol sit bottom on two points and must beat Corinthians to keep any hope of advancing alive.
