ال دی یو کیتو مقابل لانوس

LDU Quito secured a decisive 2-0 win over Lanús at the Estadio Rodrigo Paz Delgado, clinching their spot in the Copa Libertadores Round of 16 with a performance that grew stronger as the night went on. A tense, goalless first half saw Lanús create the better chances early, but LDU shifted the balance after the break. The opener came in the 73rd minute through a cruel twist for the visitors: a corner from Leo Quiñónez deflected off Felipe Peña Biafore and into his own net. Lanús pushed for a reply but never found it, and Fernando Cornejo buried the tie in stoppage time (90+1') to make it 2-0. The result lifts LDU Quito to nine points in Group G, eliminating Lanús on the head-to-head tiebreaker. The Argentines bow out with six points, their continental adventure ending on a painful own-goal deflection in Ecuador.
