Malta vs Gibraltar

Malta and Gibraltar shared the points in a 1-1 draw at Ta' Qali National Stadium, a Nations League League D clash that stayed goalless through a cagey first half. The standout flashpoint came in the 34th minute, when Malta goalkeeper Henry Bonello and Gibraltar's Kian Ronan clashed in a heated exchange that threatened to boil over before calm returned. Joseph Mbong broke the deadlock in the 53rd minute, turning home a loose back pass from close range to put Malta in front. Gibraltar needed only eight minutes to respond, as James Scanlon rifled a powerful strike from outside the box to make it 1-1. Both sides rang the changes late and pushed for a winner into three minutes of stoppage time, but neither could find a breakthrough. The result leaves Malta frustrated after dominating possession and shots on target without converting that edge into victory, while Gibraltar will be content to leave Attard with a hard-fought point in League D.
