Flamengo vs Remo

Flamengo marked Remo's first Brasileirão visit to the Maracanã since 1978 with a ruthless 3-0 victory on Thursday night. Léo Ortiz opened the scoring in the 19th minute, powering a header home from a De Arrascaeta corner to set the tone for a dominant display. The second half was over as a contest within minutes. Samuel Lino made it 2-0 in the 48th minute with a strike that deflected off defender Tchamba, and Luiz Araújo, named man of the match, curled one into the corner six minutes later to complete the rout. The win extends Flamengo's streak to four on the bounce under Leonardo Jardim, lifting them to fourth on 13 points with a game in hand. Remo, still winless and stuck in 19th, head back north with plenty of questions to answer.
