Morocco vs Burundi

Morocco produced a dominant second-half display to sweep past Burundi 5-0 in a closed-doors international friendly at the Mohammed VI Football Academy in Salé. A quiet, goalless first half gave little hint of what was to come as the Atlas Lions clicked into gear after the break. Bentayeb was the night's standout, netting twice to lead the charge, while El Kaabi matched him with a brace of his own to underline his eye for goal. Benjdida added the fifth to cap a ruthless collective performance, with Sbaï and Maamma contributing assists. There were no red cards or penalties to speak of, Morocco simply had too much quality. The timing could not be better for the Lions, who are sharpening their tools ahead of the 2026 World Cup. For Burundi, the heavy defeat is a honest measure of the work still ahead.
