Inter Miami vs Monterrey

Inter Miami saw a promising night unravel at home, falling 1-2 to Monterrey in Leagues Cup play after leading for most of the match. The Herons, playing without Lionel Messi, who had traveled to Argentina following his father's passing, couldn't hold on down the stretch.

Rodrigo De Paul put the hosts ahead in the 31st minute with a well-struck effort from outside the box. Hugo Cuypers leveled things early in the second half (47'), finishing off a pass from Lucas Ocampo, before Diego Rossi netted the decisive goal in the 89th minute off a Ricardo Chávez assist. Ocampo was shown a red card deep into stoppage time for a challenge on Sergio Reguilón, though VAR review downgraded it to a yellow.

The result is a costly one for Inter Miami, who let a lead slip late without their star man, while Monterrey continue to show they can match up well against the MLS side, avenging their 2024 Concacaf Champions Cup dominance with another statement win.
