The Mauritius national football team, known as the Club M, is governed by the Mauritius Football Association, which was founded in 1952 and affiliated with FIFA in 1962. Competing within the Confederation of African Football, Mauritius participates in AFCON qualifying rounds and FIFA World Cup qualifiers. The island nation has faced challenges competing against stronger African sides but has demonstrated commitment to football development. Home matches are played at the Anjalay Stadium in Belle Vue Maurel, one of the largest stadiums on the island. Mauritius has participated in the COSAFA Cup, a regional competition for Southern African nations, providing valuable competitive experience. The football federation continues to invest in youth development programs to raise the standard of the game across the island nation.
