Sport Club Corinthians Paulista, founded on September 1, 1910, in São Paulo by five working-class railway workers inspired by a visiting English amateur club, plays at the modern 48,905-capacity Neo Química Arena in Itaquera, which hosted the opening match of the 2014 FIFA World Cup.
