Club Atletico Belgrano was founded on 4 June 1905 in the city of Cordoba, Argentina, making it one of the oldest clubs in the interior of the country. Known as 'El Pirata' (The Pirate), Belgrano competes in the Argentine Primera Division and plays its home matches at the Estadio Julio Cesar Villagra, commonly called El Gigante de Alberdi, which holds over 38,000 spectators. The club has historically alternated between the first and second divisions, but returned to the top flight and earned promotion in 2022. Belgrano is widely regarded as the most popular club in the province of Cordoba and shares an intense local derby with Talleres de Cordoba. The club has a deep connection with the working-class communities of Cordoba and a passionate, widespread supporter base across Argentina.
