สเปน vs อาร์เจนตินา

Spain are world champions again, edging past Argentina 1-0 in an extra-time thriller at MetLife Stadium. It took until the second period of extra time for the deadlock to break, with goalkeeper Emiliano Martínez producing a tournament-record 11 saves to keep Argentina alive. The decisive moment came in the 106th minute, when Ferran Torres met a header from substitute Nico Williams and finished left-footed past Martínez. Argentina's task got harder five minutes into stoppage time at the end of normal time, when Enzo Fernández was shown a second yellow card and sent off, leaving his side to survive extra time a man down. For Spain, it's a second World Cup title and validation of a dominant, possession-heavy tournament in which they outshot Argentina 20-2 in the final alone. For Argentina, the defeat ends their hopes of becoming the first repeat champions since Brazil in 1962, and quite possibly closes the book on Lionel Messi's World Cup career.
