The Ukraine national football team, known as the Yellow-Blues, is governed by the Ukrainian Association of Football, established in 1991 following independence. Ukraine's finest World Cup performance came in 2006, when they reached the quarter-finals in Germany, losing to Italy who went on to win the tournament. Despite the ongoing war with Russia, the national team has continued to compete, qualifying for UEFA Euro 2024 in Germany and reaching the round of 16.
