Morocco
The Morocco national football team, known as the Atlas Lions, is one of Africa's most successful footballing nations, governed by the Royal Moroccan Football Federation. Morocco made history at the 2022 FIFA World Cup in Qatar, becoming the first African and Arab nation to reach the semi-finals, finishing fourth overall. They have won the Africa Cup of Nations once, in 1976, and reached multiple AFCON finals. Morocco has hosted AFCON in 1988 and will co-host the 2030 World Cup alongside Spain and Portugal. The team has produced world-class talent including Hakim Ziyech, Achraf Hakimi, Youssef En-Nesyri, Romain Saiss, and the legendary Mustapha Hadji. Coach Walid Regragui guided the historic 2022 World Cup run. Playing at the Grand Stade de Casablanca (under construction), Morocco is a dominant force in African and global football.
