Lesotho

The Lesotho national football team, nicknamed Likuena (The Crocodiles), is governed by the Lesotho Football Association and has competed under FIFA and COSAFA since 1964. Based in Maseru, Lesotho participates in FIFA World Cup qualifiers and the Africa Cup of Nations qualifying rounds. Although the team has yet to qualify for either the World Cup or AFCON finals, Lesotho has been a competitive force in the COSAFA Cup regional tournament, winning the title in 1997 and reaching several finals. The side has produced notable players such as Tsepo Molefe and Jane Tšoloane. Playing home matches at Setsoto Stadium, Lesotho continues to invest in youth development to improve standards. Their main rivals are Zimbabwe and Eswatini in regional competition, and the team remains determined to achieve a first major tournament qualification.
