Dundee United

Dundee United Football Club was founded in 1909 as Dundee Hibernian before rebranding in 1923. Based at Tannadice Park in Dundee, Scotland — one of the closest stadiums to a city rival in world football, sitting yards from Dundee FC's ground — the club has a capacity of around 14,268. United's golden era came in the 1980s under manager Jim McLean, when they won the Scottish Premier Division title in 1983 and reached the European Cup semi-finals in 1984, losing narrowly to Roma. The club also won the Scottish Cup in 1994. Notable alumni include Paul Sturrock, David Narey, and Duncan Ferguson. After a period in the Scottish Championship, United returned to the Scottish Premiership and have worked to re-establish themselves as a top-flight presence.
