The Chile national football team, La Roja, is one of South America's most celebrated sides, governed by the Federación de Fútbol de Chile and affiliated with FIFA and CONMEBOL. Chile won back-to-back Copa América titles in 2015 and 2016, the finest achievements in their history. The team's golden generation was led by Alexis Sánchez, Arturo Vidal, Gary Medel, and Claudio Bravo, guided by coach Jorge Sampaoli and later Juan Antonio Pizzi. Chile has appeared in eight FIFA World Cups, reaching the quarter-finals in 1962 on home soil. The team plays at the Estadio Nacional Julio Martínez Prádanos in Santiago, which holds nearly 49,000 fans. La Roja is known for an intense high-pressing style and passionate football culture deeply embedded in Chilean society.
