Daejeon Citizen
Daejeon Hana Citizen FC, founded in 1997 and based in Daejeon, South Korea, competes in the K League 1, South Korea's top professional division. The club plays its home matches at Daejeon World Cup Stadium, one of the venues built for the 2002 FIFA World Cup, with a capacity of approximately 41,295. Originally founded as Daejeon Citizen, the club was rebranded after investment from Hana Financial Group. Daejeon has had periods in both the K League 1 and K League 2, earning promotion back to the top flight and working to establish themselves as a stable first-division side. The club has a passionate local fanbase in Daejeon and has produced and developed players who have gone on to represent the South Korea national team. Their ambition is to become a consistent mid-table to top-half K League 1 contender.
