SV 07 Elversberg
SV 07 Elversberg is a football club from Spiesen-Elversberg in the Saarland region of Germany, founded in 1907. The club plays at the Waldstadion an der Kaiserlinde, which holds 11,150 spectators. Historically a lower-division side, Elversberg experienced a remarkable rise through the German football pyramid in the 2020s, winning the Regionalliga Südwest title and earning promotion to the 3. Liga, then sensationally winning the 3. Liga championship in the 2022-23 season to reach the 2. Bundesliga for the first time in their history. Playing an attractive, pressing style of football, Elversberg established themselves in the second tier, becoming one of German football's great recent Cinderella stories. Their ascent highlighted the strength of Germany's football pyramid and the potential of well-organised clubs from smaller communities.
